Monitoring of environmental changes of Tabriz plain at Quaternary sediments
Abstract Sediments provide a continuous, sensitive record of changing conditions of environment and processes within plain and in the surrounding plain, thus they contain significant archives of past environmental change on the continents. Valuable informations on regional and global scale patterns of past climate variability in the Azarbayjan region have been documented by numerous paleocli...
متن کاملCondition Monitoring with Incomplete Observations
We introduce an approach for predicting the behaviour of a machine during a production cycle. Typical data analysis methods assume that continuous behaviour is (fully) observed. This assumption is unrealistic as monitored machines are often interrupted and restarted at irregular points in time. We study the resulting problem, propose a solution and report on a use-case in wire drawing.

27 Twitty 1940; Nussbaum 1969). Our observations suggest that hyporheic zones might provide important and not previously recognized habitats for amphibians in intermittent headwater streams. Additional sampling is needed to better characterize hyporheic use by Dicamptodon and other stream amphibians such as the torrent salamanders (Rhyacotriton spp.). Better information notwithstanding, managem...
متن کاملAnalysis of Land Skin Temperature Using Avhrr Observations
APRIL 2004 AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY | S atellite-based surface temperature is referred to as skin temperature (Dickinson 1994). The National Research Council (NRC; 2000) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC; Houghton et al. 2001) pointed out the urgent need for long-term remote sensing–based land surface skin temperature (LST) data in global warming studies to improve ...
متن کاملMonitoring Burnt Areas in Portugal Using NOAA/AVHRR Imagery
The summer season of 2003 in Continental Portugal was by far the worst in what respects both to the number of forest fires and the amount of burnt area. In the present work, burnt area monitoring was performed using NOAA/AVHRR imagery by means of a neuro-fuzzy (ANFIS) algorithm that was applied on an operational basis to the surface of the country. Validation of obtained results was performed b...
